Rothstein Commits to Colorado College

Sioux Falls, SD-The Sioux Falls Stampede are proud to announce that forward Sam Rothstein has committed to Colorado College. He becomes the 10th Stampede player to commit to a Division I program this season.

Rothstein is in his second season with the Herd. He started last season playing at Minnetonka High School where he finished second on the team in scoring with 56 points (26g, 30a) in just 28 games while leading the Skippers to the Section 6 AA championship game. He went on to record seven points (3g, 4a) in 14 games with the Herd.

This season, Rothstein is fourth on the team in scoring with eight points (4g, 4a) and one game-winning goal in eight games.

Colorado College is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado and are members of the WCHA. They will join the National Collegiate Hockey Conference in 2013-14. The league will consist of Colorado College, University of Denver, Miami University, University of Minnesota Duluth, St. Cloud State University, University of Nebraska Omaha, University of North Dakota and Western Michigan.

Rothstein will join Marty Sertich, Scott Thauwald, Jesse Stokke, Cody Lampl, Derek Patrosso, Nate Prosser, Gabe Guentzel, Nick Dineen, and Matt Overman as former Stampede players who have skated at Colorado College.

The Stampede return to action tonight when they face Fargo at 7:05 PM. Tomorrow the Herd host Chicago. The first 1,000 fans will receive a free commemorative Stampede game puck! Get your tickets at the Sioux Falls Arena Box Office!
