
Roster moves prepare Gladiators for Destroyers

Las Vegas, NV, March 10, 2005 â The Las Vegas Gladiators announced today they have activated QB Clint Dolezel and OL/DL Steve Konopka, released QB Rod Robinson and activated and released WR/LB Ricky Ross. They also placed OL/DL Desmond Byrd (shoulder) on injured reserve the team announced today.
Dolezel (6'5", 205, East Texas State), who missed the last four games do to a broken middle finger, will come back this week against the Columbus Destroyers. He was placed on the injured reserve list after Week 2 against the San Jose SaberCats. When Dolezel was placed on injured reserve it was the first time he missed a game since June 4, 1999, as a member of the now defunct Houston Thunderbears. He played 75 consecutive games before missing the game in Week 3 against the New York Dragons.
Konopka (6'4", 290, Central Connecticut) missed the last four games with a groin injury. Before going down with an injury, he tallied seven tackles, one sack and one pass breakup in two games.
The Gladiators hit the road in week seven as they travel to Columbus to take on the Destroyers on Saturday night, March 12. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. PT and the can be heard on ESPN Radio 920 with Andrew Siciliano and Mike Pritchard calling the game.
