Roosters Team Up With U.S. Bank For Charity

RICHMOND, IN –The Richmond Roosters announced today at a joint press conference at McBride Stadium the annual contribution by US Bank to their charity, the Boys & Girls Club of Wayne County. This program is done through the “US Bank/Richmond Roosters Home Run Derby” promotion.

This season, the 2001 & 2002 Frontier League Champions hit a total of 41 home runs at home. The program calls for US Bank to contribute $50 for every home run hit by the Roosters at McBride Stadium. This yearÂ’s contribution came to $2,050.

Mr. Robert S. Powell, Regional President of US Bank, was on hand at McBride Stadium to present the check in this amount to Bruce Daggy, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Wayne County. Also in attendance was Deanna Beaman, General Manager of the Richmond Roosters, Allen Brady, President and majority owner of the Richmond Roosters, Rob Quigg, majority owner of the Richmond Roosters and Boys & Girls Club of Wayne County Board of Directors member and Richmond Rooster Centerfielder, the 2002 Frontier League MVP, 2002 Frontier League Rookie of the Year and new member of the Seattle MarinerÂ’s organization, Phil Willingham.

“We are always looking for ways to support the local community and by bringing the Boys & Girls Club of Wayne Count, the Roosters and US Bank together this creates a win-win situation for all.” Stated Robert S. Powell, Regional President of US Bank. “Along with our donation to this charity, we are especially proud to be a part of the Richmond Roosters second season of claiming the Frontier League title.” Added Powell.

This is the sixth year that US Bank (formally Firstar Bank) has contributed to the Club through this promotion. Total Contribution over the six-year period is $12,750.

“We are so excited to be in a position to do this.” State Deanna Beaman, General Manager of the Richmond Roosters. “US Bank has been with us since our inaugural season in 1995 and they have done a tremendous job of supporting us through the years.”

“This is just one example of the many different ways that we help the Richmond area and the surrounding areas.” Stated Allen Brady, Richmond Roosters President. “This is just a taste of the things that we do with the community and we look forward to helping the community in many different ways for many years to come.”
