
Rookie Kemp Joins Condors Roster

Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, host of the 2010-11 ECHL All-Star Classic and ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, today signed rookie C John Kemp. The announcement was made by Head Coach Marty Raymond.
Kemp, 23, embarks on his professional career after two years at theUniversity of Nebraska-Omaha (CCHA). As a freshman in 2008-09, Kemp's 22 points (2g-20a) was good enough for sixth on the team while his 20 assists placed him second. The following year, he finished second on the team in points (28) and assists (20) while contributing eight goals.
Prior to UNO, Kemp played with the United States National Under-18 team (2003-04) where he posted 29 points (7g-22a) in 59 games. The following season, he moved on to the USHL dressing for the Indiana Ice from 2005-2008. Kemp notched 190 points (36g-154a) in only 160 games with the Ice.
Kemp grew up in Arcadia, Ca, about 120 miles south of Bakersfield.

"John is a crafty, skillful center. He played on the National Under-18 team. He has tremendous potential, and is a playmaker, sort of like Adam Oates. We are happy to have a California kid on the team."
The Condors now have 14 players inked for the 2010-11 season: goaltender Peter Hirsch, defensemen Erik Burgdoerfer, Jay Cascalenda, Jason Lepine, Antonin Manavian, Sebastian Strom, and Yan Turcotte, forwards Jean-Marc Beaudoin, Adam Chorneyko, J.D. Corbin, Kemp, Adam Naglich, Bobby Robins and Mika Suoraniemi. Training camp opens for the Condors on Friday, Oct. 1.
