ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings, announced the signing of forward Shawn Collymore to standard contract for the 2010-11 season.

Collymore, 27, returns to U.S. hockey after a playing the 2009-10 season in Denmark with the Esbjerg EfB Ishockey professional hockey club. He finished the season with 23 points (9g, 14a) and 39 penalty minutes in 35 games.

The Montreal, Canada native spent time with three teams in the 2007-08 season; the AHL Hershey Bears (6a in 6 games), the ECHL Reading Royals (7g, 14a in 13 games) and the AHL Norfolk Admirals (1g, 1a in 10 games). Collymore started the 2006-07 season with the Reading Royals. He scored 48 points (16g, 32a) before moving to the Binghampton Senators of the AHL where he tallied one goal in nine games.

Collymore began his professional career with the Toledo Storm of the ECHL where he scored 19 points (7g, 12a) in the 2004-05 campaign. He moved to the UHL for the 2005-06 season where he led the Danbury Thrashers with a +44 plus/minus rating. He was first among UHL rookies, fourth in the league overall. The forward was once selected Player of the Week and once selected Rookie of the Month. His 14 assists led the league in the playoffs that year.

Prior to his professional career, Collymore played 1999-2004 in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Quebec Remparts and Val d'Or Foreurs. He finished his junior play with 268 points (114g, 154a) and 169 penalty minutes in 312 games.

The Reign begins its third season, presented by San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino, Saturday, October 23, 2010 against the Stockton Thunder at 7:00 PM.
