
Rondon Placed on DL, Marquez Activated

CHARLESTON, SC - The New York Yankees announced Saturday that Charleston RiverDogs left-handed pitcher Francisco Rondon has been placed on the 7-day DL with an upper-body injury. Right-handed pitcher Dickson Marquez replaces Rondon on the roster.
Rondon has appeared in 10 games for the RiverDogs thus far this season. In 11.2 innings on the mound, the Dominican native has allowed 12 hits and 10 earned runs, while striking out 16 batters.
Marquez appeared in 22 games last season, 20 with the GCL Yankees followed by two with the RiverDogs. The 24-year-old struck out 25 batters and allowed 20 hits and six earned runs in 33.0 innings of work last season between the two clubs.
