
Ronald Matarrita, Alvas Powell Represent Countries in FIFA World Cup Qualification

Two FC Cincinnati defenders will represent their countries during the upcoming international window for 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualification.
Ronald Matarrita (Costa Rica) and Alvas Powell (Jamaica) earned call-ups to their respective national teams and are available for selection for each nation's three matches over the next week.
Matarrita and Los Ticos will face off against Powell's Reggae Boyz on Feb. 2 in Kingston for each team's third match of the international window.
Ronald Matarrita (Costa Rica)
Jan. 27 - vs. Panama - Estadio Nacional, San José
Jan. 30 - at Mexico - Estadio Azteca, Mexico City
Feb. 2 - at Jamaica - Independence Park, Kingston
Matarrita has been a mainstay for Los Ticos plans over the past year, having earned 12 caps for Costa Rica in 2021, eight of which were starts. Twice he assisted goals, including in October against the United States in Columbus.
He has earned 17 caps in FIFA World Cup Qualifying, including seven in the current cycle. Since his debut with Costa Rica in 2015, he has made 49 appearances, scoring three goals.
Alvas Powell (Jamaica)

Feb. 2 - vs. Costa Rica - Independence Park, Kingston
Powell has earned 57 caps with Jamaica since his debut with the Reggae Boyz in 2012. The defender has scored two goals for his country, both in the same game, against Guyana in Concacaf Nations League play in 2019.
Like Matarrita, he has appeared 17 times in FIFA World Cup Qualifying, including five times in the current cycle. His most recent appearance came on Oct. 11 vs. Canada in a scoreless draw.
2022's home schedule begins at TQL Stadium when the club hosts D.C. United in the home opener on March 5. Tickets are currently available through Season Ticket Memberships.
