Rogues Return to Winning Ways

MEDFORD, Ore. - The Medford Rogues made the short trip over to Klamath Falls tonight to face the Gems and in the process returned back to winning ways with a 15-2 victory at Kiger Stadium. With the win, the Rogues are now 1-6 in non-league play and still hold a league record of 6-9.

AJ Dean started on the mound for the Rogues tonight and pitched five innings to record the win. Dean gave up two hits for two runs, one of which was earned while recording four strikeouts and walking five. Dean's ERA for the season sits at 1.50.

Aaron Schwark, Jared Holloman, Daniel Ferrell, and Gabe Genter all pitched a combined four innings for the Rogues and only allowed one hit. For the Gems, pitcher Jordan Horak recorded the loss in four innings pitched. Horak gave up six hits for seven runs, five of which were earned while striking out nine Rogues batters and walking four.

On offense, the Rogues were led by short stop Tony Roque who made four appearances at the plate tonight. Roque recorded three hits for three runs and three RBI's while his batting average for the season sits at .308. Third baseman JJ Kitaoka hit a grand slam for the Rogues in one of his five at bats. Kitaoka had one hit, one run and four RBI's for the night with a season batting average improved to .100.

The Rogues return home and resume league play tomorrow night in the first of a three game series against the Corvallis Knights at Harry and David field. First pitch is set for 6:35pm.
