
Rogues Fall to AppleSox in Game Two

Wenatchee, WA - The Rogues losing streak continued Tuesday after they fell to Wenatchee, 3-8.
Medford got on the board early with two runs in the top of the first inning. Derron Davis in the lead-off spot, was walked by the starting pitcher for the AppleSox, C.J. Gettman. Dan Mayer was also walked and both were able to get across the plate, leading 2-0 after the first inning.
The AppleSox scored their first run of the game in the bottom of the second inning after Mitchell Holland hit a lead-off double. Holland was brought in by an RBI by Nick Nyquist. The bats for both teams were quiet until the fourth inning.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, a combination of hits, walks and errors cost the Rogues six runs. All the hits that the Rogues gave up were singles and the AppleSox were able to steal two bases. One AppleSox batter was walked and one was hit by a pitch. The Rogues saw ten batters during the fourth inning, and heading into the fifth, Wenatchee jumped ahead leading 2-7.
Medford was able to plate another run in the seventh inning. T.K. McWhertor reached on a lead-off single then was able to cross the plate off an RBI single by Nathan Etheridge, making the score 3-7.
The AppleSox scored one more time in the seventh inning off another lead-off hit, increasing the lead over Medford, 3-8. The Rogues were unable to answer in the top of the ninth and the first three batters were retired in order with the final score being 3-8 in favor of Wenatchee.
The Rogues and AppleSox face off one more time Wednesday night, at 7:05pm. The Rogues will then go to Kitsap to face the Blue Jackets in a three game series.
