
Rogues Beat Pippins in Game One

YAKIMA, WA - The Rogues traveled to face the Yakima Valley Pippins in a three-game weekday series. With two ties during the game, the Rogues and Pippins went back and forth until the eighth inning when Medford broke the tie and held on to the lead to beat Yakima Valley, 5-3.
Rogues scoring started in the third inning after Brock Pradere and Derron Davis both reached base on walks. They were brought in by a two-RBI single by Billy Fredrick to jump ahead 2-0 over the Pippins. Yakima tied things up in the fifth but Medford scored another in the seventh off an RBI single by Nathan Etheridge. The Pippins knotted the game up again, answering in the bottom of the seventh with a run but the Rogues were able to plate two more runs in the eighth and were able to hold on to the lead until the ninth and earned the win, 5-3.
Billy Fredrick was strong at the plate with two hits in three appearances and one RBI. Fredrick is now on a franchise-record, 13-game hitting streak. His batting average now sits at a healthy .330. Daniel Patzlaff had a single and an RBI in his three at-bats, now with a .226 average.
Kade Wagner was on the mound for his second start of the season for the Rogues. He went six and one third innings, gave up one earned run on four hits, walked two and struck out one. Wagner's ERA now is at 3.45. Daniel Ferrell, Justin Mulvaney and DJ Wilson made appearances on the mound for the Rogues.
The Rogues and Pippins face off again tomorrow night at 7:05pm for game two of the series.
