LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks activated veteran pitcher Mike Rogers and signed left-hander George Rasiarmos following Sunday's win over Kalamazoo.

Rogers went on the 14-day disabled list on June 24 because of shoulder fatigue. He is 1-4 with a 9.11 ERA in seven starts.

Rasiarmos broke into pro baseball last season with the RiverHawks. He was 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA in four appearances. His season ended early because of an elbow injury that required Tommy John surgery.

The RiverHawks sent pitchers Jose Mateo (right forearm) and Marcus McKenzie (sprained ankle) to the DL. Mateo, who is 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA in 10 appearances, suffered the same injury that sent him to the shelf last month. McKenzie is 0-2 with a 3.45 ERA in 17 appearances.

Rockford also released pitcher Kyffin Marcum. Marcum had been on the DL since July 3 because of a strained oblique muscle.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 17th season. Advertising and ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255. Fans can also visit the RiverHawks online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com. Most games are broadcast live on ESPN 1380, and on the team website.
