Rocky Mountain Rage News Release
Oct. 19 @ Odessa, 3-2 Win - The Rage opened the 2007-08 season with a victory on the road against the Jackalopes. Scott Wray scored both the team's first goal of the year and the game-winner on his way to a three-point night (2g-1a) to earn the game's first star. Goaltender Scott Reid made 22 saves to notch his first win in a Rage sweater.
Oct. 20 @ Amarillo, 4-3 Shootout Win - After letting a 3-1 lead slip away over the game's final three minutes, the Rage finally prevailed in the sixth round of the shootout once Nathan Rosychuk became the only player from either team to score in the tie-breaker. Goaltender Terry Dunbar made 44 saves through regulation and overtime before stonewalling all six Gorillas he faced in the shootout. Daymen Rycroft, Simon Watson, and Brent Cullaton all scored to help Rocky Mountain build its early lead.

NOTES
* The Rage's two road wins to open the season mark the first time in the team's short history that they have won back-to-back games away from Broomfield Event Center. Following a victory on the road against the Colorado Eagles in their first-ever game last season, Rocky Mountain did not pick up their second win away from home until a New Year's Eve triumph in Oklahoma City.
* Dunbar's six shootout saves on Saturday set a new team record. His stellar performance also ranks him fourth in the league with a .936 save percentage.
* Wray's five points (2g-3a) through the first weekend have him one point off the league scoring lead.
* Wray also generated a league season-high 10 shots on goal on Saturday in Amarillo and is tied for second in the CHL with 13 total shots along with teammate Trevor Weisgerber.
* The Rage sit atop the Northwest Division standings with four points, joining the Texas Brahmas, Youngstown SteelHounds, Arizona Sundogs, and Laredo Bucks as the only teams that own an unblemished 2-0-0 record after the CHL's opening weekend.
* Rocky Mountain's opponent in the home opener on Friday, the Tulsa Oilers, also defeated the Gorillas this past weekend, winning, 3-2, in Amarillo on Friday.
