Midland RockHounds News Release

The Texas League will finish the 1st half of the season on Tuesday night, which means that all eight teams will start back at 0-0 for the remaining 70 games.

The RockHounds hope of a 1st half championship came to an end last week as the Frisco RoughRiders clinched the division. Frisco has secured a spot in the Texas League playoffs in September and will play the second half champion in the South.

If Frisco wins the 2nd half as well, then the team with the best full season record will advance to the playoffs as a wild card.

Catch the RockHounds at Citibank Ballpark all week long, as they continue a 12-game home stand against Frisco and San Antonio through Monday, June 23rd.

ROSTER MOVEMENT

Danny Borrell joined the team on Saturday and will start for the RockHounds on Monday night. Borrell will be making his second appearance with the team this season, after spending the last month in Triple-A Sacramento. Borrell took Jason Glushon's roster spot, when he was sent to Single-A Stockton.

Javier Herrera will join the team on Monday and will fill an empty roster spot. Herrera has been rehabbing an injury all season at the Oakland A's extended Spring Training facility in Arizona.

Trevor Cahill will join the team tonight and will replace Scott Moore, who was assigned to Single - A Stockton this morning. Cahill has had an outstanding season thus far in Stockton, as he was named to the California League All-Star team, while posting a 2.78 ERA and a 5-4 record.
