Arkansas Travelers News Release
Dickey-Stephens Park, North Little Rock, AR - The first half of the Texas League season is down to two games, and the Travs host the Springfield Cardinals with a chance to win the division pennant Monday and Tuesday. Arkansas and Springfield are tied atop the North Division with records of 35-33, but the Travs hold the edge because of a division-record tiebreaker. The Travs need one win over the next two games to clinch the pennant, and they get a boost with OF Adam Greenberg coming off the disabled list.
Greenberg went down on June 5 while going first-to-third on the bases at Northwest Arkansas. With swelling in the back of his right knee, Greenberg eventually was diagnosed with a burst Baker's cyst and his recovery was evident Sunday after he ran the bases before batting practice without pain.
The Travs send all-star RHP Bobby Mosebach to the mound on Monday and RHP Fernando Rodriguez on Tuesday, while the Cardinals counter with RHP Tyler Herron and RHP Jess Todd.
The Travs and Cardinals will begin the second half of the season with a two-game series beginning Wednesday.
