Rockford to face Great Lakes in CBA playoffs

Rockford, IL- When the Rockford Lightning defeated the Gary Steeleads this past Friday, they clinched their 12th consecutive post season appearance. The Lightning will be taking on the Great Lakes Storm, a team that they have been battling for the top spot in the CBA's Eastern Conference all season long.
There is a chance that Rockford still might overtake Great Lakes for the top spot in the East. Great Lakes currently holds a 4.0 to 3.7 quarter point average advantage over the Bolts, but only 17 quarter points separate the two teams. If the season were to finish with the Rockford Lightning in second place, the series would be a 2-2-1 format, with Great Lakes hosting Games 1, 2, and 5, while Rockford would host Games 3 and 4. If the Lightning were to overtake Great Lakes for first in the Eastern Conference, the series will be a 2-3 format, with the first two games played in Birch Run, and the final three at the Rockford MetroCentre.

#2 Great Lakes vs. #1 Rockford Tuesday, March 15-Rockford at Great Lakes, 6:05 p.m. Thursday, March 17-Rockford at Great Lakes, 6:05 p.m. Saturday, March 19-Great Lakes at Rockford, 1:05 p.m. Sunday, March 20-Great Lakes at Rockford, 1:05 p.m. Monday, March 21-Great Lakes at Rockford, 7:05 p.m.
The winner of the series will meet the winner of the Western Conference playoff match-up between the Sioux Falls Skyforce and Dakota Wizards. The 2005 CBA Finals will begin on Saturday, March 26, at the home court of the team with the higher seed.
Rockford hosts one of their potential CBA Finals opponents in the Dakota Wizards on Sunday, March 13 at 7:05 p.m. at the Rockford MetroCentre. It's Fan Appreciation night, and the first 1,000 fans will receive a Rockford Lightning poster.
