Rockford takes hit on road

Birch Run, MI- Rockford needed a big victory, but their effort came up short as they fell to the Great Lakes Storm, 121-111 on Wednesday night. The loss moves Great Lakes into a tie for first place with the Bolts in the CBA's Eastern Conference. It also is the seventh straight road loss for the Lightning on the year.

Six Lightning players scored in double figures, led by Stais Boseman's 22-point performance. Rockford was leading the game 95-90 after the third quarter, and led by seven with 7:00 remaining, but a Great Lakes Storm run capped by a Doug Smith three-point play sealed the victory. Keith Closs had 10 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots for the Bolts, and Boseman had five assists in Wednesday's game. Tommy Adams led the way for Great Lakes, scoring 26 points in the victory. The two teams will meet up again on New Year's Eve for a 6:05 p.m. tip in Birch Run.

To kick off the new year, the Lightning return to the Rockford MetroCentre on January 1st. 2005 starts off in style with the Fabulous Janes performing before and after Saturday night's game. The most obnoxious fan in the history of all sport, the "King of Sports" will be making an appearance as well.
