Rockford Lightning News Release
Lightning General manager Michael Neville and Lightning owner Judy Timpe are pleased
to announce that an agreement with Lightning Head Coach has been reached. On
Tuesday July 5, Daleo has signed a three-year contract extension (pending league
approval) that will allow Daleo to patrol the sidelines through the 2007-2008
season. "It was our goal to sit down with Chris and work something out that would guarantee
that he was our head coach for years to come." Said Lightning General Manager
Michael Neville. Daleo has led the Lightning to three straight play-off appearances
and remains fourth on the list of Lightning coaches for total wins and has the
highest winning percentage of any Lightning coach. "I am very excited to remain the Lightning's coach not only for this year but for
the next couple of years." Said Daleo. "This truly shows Judy Timpe's commitment to
the City of Rockford by keeping the Lightning here. I feel that the Lightning
remain the best family entertainment in the Rockford area, and I am proud to be
apart of it." "This was very easy negotiation for all parties." Said Neville. "Once Chris
returned from Italy we met with him first thing. We feel that it is important for
the Lightning's coach to be active in the community, meet with sponsors and season
ticket holders, have a good relationship with the Rockford media, and of course win
ball games. Chris does all of that. Both Judy and I feel comfortable in having him
remain in Rockford." All comments and questions concerning this Lightning press release can be answered
