September 16, 2004 - Continental Basketball Association 1 (CBA 1) - Rockford Lightning News Release

Rockford, IL. This Saturday at the Patriot’s Gateway Center (615 S. 5th St.), some of the best basketball players to hail from the Forest City will gather and play against any challengers in the Rockford Lightning’s September 18th Free Agent Camp.

Many times prep basketball fans wonder what would happen if the outstanding players from different era’s of NIC-9 basketball got together on the same team. For the first time in history, fans will see their NIC-9 fantasy team take shape.

The line-up for Saturday is: Terrence Gulley (Jefferson), L.A. Malone (Auburn), Lee Lampley (Boylan), Kevin Hass (Boylan), Frank Richards (Jefferson), and Brandon Parker (Jefferson)!

The Rockford “Dream Team” will run the floor against players from schools like LSU, University of Georgia, and overseas leagues. They will all try to catch Lightning Head Coach Chris Daleo’s eye and earn an invite to Vet’s Camp. “This should be a great camp,” said Daleo, “Rockford’s known for its highly competitive camps, and this one should be one of the best. It’s Rockford against the rest of the country for a chance at Vet’s Camp!” This is the last Free Agent Camp before the CBA Draft on September 21st (7:00pm at JD’s Bar and Grill in the North Towne Mall)

The Free Agent Camp starts at 9:00am on Saturday, September 18th. Any further information can be obtained by calling the Rockford Lightning front office at 815-874-4232 or by visiting the team website.
