Rockets Beat Giants 5-0 at LEC

Vancouver, B.C. - The Kelowna Rockets blanked the Vancouver Giants for a second consecutive night, winning 5-0 at the Langley Events Centre on Saturday evening.

Calvin Thurkauf tipped a Cal Foote point shot past Giants goaltender David Tendeck on a first period power play to put the Rockets on the board. James Hilsendager scored later in the stanza on a wrist shot from the slot.

Erik Gardiner cashed in on a man advantage in the second period, scoring on the rebound of his brother Reid's shot. Lucas Johansen beat Tendeck on a point shot just 11 seconds later, and Johansen set up Kole Lind for his 26th goal of the season before the end of the middle frame.

Kelowna out shot Vancouver 38-19. The Giants failed to score on three power play opportunities.
