
Rocket Make Major Moves

The Rocket announced some major player movement today in trades with Victoriaville, Rouyn-Noranda and Chicoutimi.
Champagne and Doyle to Victoriaville
Joel Champagne and Chris Doyle were traded to Victoriaville in return for 19 year old Jonathan Bonneau, 16 year old prospect Michael Ortika, along with Victoriaville's 1st, 3rd, and 4th round draft picks in 2010 along with Victoriaville's 2nd round draft pick in 2011. Bonneau (San Jose Sharks invite in 2008), was originally a first round pick for Victoriaville in 2007 (4th overall) while Ortika was originally drafted by the Tigres in the 3rd round (#44) of the 2009 entry draft and is currently playing in Montreal where he is Captain of the Rousseau Royal Midget AAA Hockey Club. Bonneau is expected to be in the lineup tonight against the Sea Dogs.
Stinziani Acquired from Chicoutimi
The Rocket also announced that they have acquired 20 year old, Michael Stinziani from the Chicoutimi Sagueneéns in exchange for PEI's fourth round draft pick in 2010. Stinziani has scored 50 goals and 69 assists in his QMJHL career. Stinziani is expected to be in the lineup for the Rocket when they face Saint John tonight at Harbour Station.
Brad Yetman Acquired from Rouyn-Noranda for MacLean
18 year old defenceman Brad Yetman was also acquired by the PEI Rocket from the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in exchange for Brandon MacLean and PEI's 6th round draft pick in 2010. Yetman was born in Mount Pearl, NL and was originally a 5th round draft pick of the Shawinigan Cataractes. Yetman will join the team shortly and more details will follow.
Serge Savard Jr indicated that "we are very happy about these trades for the future of the Rocket. We are in a very competitive division right now and we felt this would be the best approach for long term success. We feel this is a major step in the right direction for our organization as part of our 3-year strategic plan for our hockey operations department".
The Rocket return to home action tomorrow evening when they host the Acadie-Bathurst Titan at the Charlottetown Civic Centre at 7:00 PM.
