Rocket and OT Haircutters Develop New Partnership
November 16, 2010 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
P.E.I. Rocket News Release
The Rocket announced a new partnership with OT HairCutters that will see support given to the Rocket Booster Club in support of education and minor hockey initiatives.
On each and every home game day this year, anyone who gets their hair cut at OT HairCutters will be given a coupon for a free child/youth ticket with the purchase of an adult/senior ticket.
OT HairCutters will donate $1 from every hair cut on home game dates to the Rocket Booster Club. Any proceeds from the charitable foundation are used to fund education costs for players and support to various minor hockey development initiatives.
"This is a unique partnership for us", said GM Kent Hudson. "OT HairCutters is a great corporate partner and we are proud to be able to launch this program to our community", he added.
Denny Barkhouse, President of OT HairCutters said "we are proud and excited to partner with the PEI Rocket. Hockey is an inherent part of Island culture, any contribution we can make to support Our Island Team and local minor hockey development programs we are thrilled to be a part of."
OT HairCutters has also developed a "Rocket Wall" in their location at Kirkwood Mews, 393 University Ave. All Rocket players will be visiting OT HairCutters to sign their name, number and the year they played on the backlit sign over the coming years. Once the "Rocket Wall" is filled with autographs, OT HairCutters will be donating the wall back to the Rocket to be auctioned off in support of the Rocket Foundation and local minor hockey development initiatives.
