
Rockers Split Series against Growlers

Kalamazoo, Mich. - The Green Bay Rockers earned a big 10-6 win on Sunday afternoon in Kalamazoo.
The scoring started in the third inning. Green Bay scored three times in the frame; first, Carson Yates came on a wild pitch, then Tristin Garcia and Griffin Stevens each had RBI singles.
Kalamazoo cut the lead to one in the bottom of the third. Anthony Stephan and Connor Schuman hit back-to-back RBI singles.
The Growlers took a 5-3 lead in the fourth after Alex Calarco hit a three-run home run (his first of the year).
Green Bay took the lead in the fifth as they put up a crooked number. Justin Simpson hit a solo HR to make it 5-4, then with two outs and the bases loaded, Jayson Willers cleared the bases on a double to right center. In the sixth, Tristin Garcia hit his third home run of the year to make it 8-5.
Tristin Garcia and Griffin Stevens each had RBI hits to extend Green Bay's lead to 10-5. Garcia smoked a double to left and Stevens hit his fourth single of the game.
In the bottom of the eighth, Kalamazoo made it 10-6 on a Devin Obee hit. Jacob Conover shut the door in the bottom of the ninth to ensure the Rockers' win.
The All-Star Break begins Monday and lasts through Wednesday. The Rockers are back in action Thursday, July 21, when they take on the Madison Mallards in Ashwaubenon. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
