Rockford, IL. - Rock River Raptors are proud to announce the signing of Tyrece Butler WR and Calvin Bell WR.

Tyrece Butler is a 6'3" 205 pound wide receiver from the University of Michigan. At Michigan, Butler was a four-year letterman where he played in 43 career games and made six starts as a wide receiver. Over Butler's career, he made 28 catches for 338 yards. Butler was also a contributor on special teams as well as at wide receiver. Butler missed the 2000 season after injuring his knee during fall camp and was red-shirted. Coming out of Decatur High School in Indiana, Prep Football Report ranked him as the No. 62 player in the nation, the No. 8 player in the Midwest and the No. 11 wide receiver in the nation. He was selected as the No. 18 wide receiver in the country by The National Recruiting Advisor and was ranked as the No. 12 player in the Midwest by Super Prep Magazine. He was rated No. 7 on the Detroit Free Press Best of the Midwest list. Butler was named all-state as a senior and played in Indiana North-South All-Star game. He was timed at 4.38 at the forty yard dash and benched 280 pounds.

Calvin Bell is a 6'1" 190 pound wide receiver from the University of Michigan. Bell was four-year letterman and played in 48 games out of 50 games that he could have played in, he also made six starts. Bell caught 45 career receptions for 553 yards and scored one touchdown. His average was 12.3 yards per reception at Michigan. He also rushed 18 times on wide receiver reverses for 235 yards and scored four rushing touchdowns during his career were he averaged 13.1 yards per carry. Coming out high school in California he was rated No. 70 overall player in California, Hawaii and Nevada by SuperPrep Magazine and rated 65th-best wide receiver by Rivals100.com. Bell selected by Prep Football Report as the No. 82 player in Far West and was named Most Valuable Offensive Player junior and senior seasons at Simi Valley High School. Calvin was timed at 4.4 at the forty yard dash and benched 280 pounds.

In "getting Calvin and Tyrece to come play ball for the Raptors is a big coup for the league and for the community here in Rockford. They will make it extremely tough on opposing defenses with their size and speed, and give us tremendous depth at Wide Receiver, and coming from Michigan I know they were coached up well," Said Coach Richards after the signing of the two Michigan grads.
