Rock Release Revised 2005 Schedule

Toronto, ON â The National Lacrosse League has released a revised schedule for the 2005 regular season. Revisions to the schedule were necessary when the Vancouver Ravens recently suspended operations for the upcoming season.
The Rock were set to face off against the Ravens on February 18 and March 18, 2005. Under the revised schedule, all Rock home game dates will remain the same, although their opponents for 3 games will change.
On Friday March 18th, the Rock are now scheduled to face off against the Arizona Sting for the fist time in franchise history. Fans will now be able to see the second return of the NLL Championship Calgary Roughnecks to the Air Canada Center on Friday April 1st and a Sunday April 10th game against Philadelphia will now translate into the Rock's second home and home series of the season.
One road game date has been changed to replace the Feb. 18 game in that was to take place in Vancouver. On Saturday March 12th, the Rock will travel to Arrowhead Pond to take on the Anaheim Storm.
Under the new schedule, the Rock will now take on 3 teams from the Western Division. This will be the first year that Toronto will face off against an American Western Division team since they took on the Colorado Mammoth on April 13, 2003. Typically in past bouts with Western teams, the Rock have come out on top; winning 7 of 10 contests by an average of 3 goals per game.
The Toronto Rock open the 2005 season at 7:30pm on Friday January 7, 2005 when they take on the Buffalo Bandits at HSBC Arena. Just one week later the Rock will host the Minnesota Swarm at the Air Canada Center on Saturday January 15, 2005 at 7:30pm. Tickets for the home opener are available through Ticketmaster outlets or at the Box Office at the Air Canada Center.
