Rochester Knighthawks News Release
(Rochester, NY)... The National Lacrosse League (NLL) announced today that Rochester Rattlers midfielder Jordan Hall has been named to the 2008 NLL All-Rookie team.
Hall completed his first year of professional lacrosse playing the indoor game with the New York Titans, where he compiled 24 goals and 45 assists for 69 points to help the second-year Titans to a 10-6 regular season record. The Titans were eliminated from playoff contention last Saturday following a 19-12 loss to the East Division Champion Buffalo Bandits.
Hall finished the season leading all rookies in points and loose balls with 69 and 109, respectively. The 23-year-old left-hander, who was selected first overall by New York out of the University of Delaware, was named Rookie of the Week three times.
Rochester recently acquired Hall earlier this week in a trade with the Chicago Machine. In return, the Rattlers sent midfielders Brian Clayton and Matt Dasinger, and a 2008 third-round Collegiate Draft Pick (30th overall) to the Machine. This trade gives both Chicago and Rochester a total of five picks each in the upcoming Collegiate Draft, which will be held on May 28th at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. Chicago currently holds the 1st overall pick in this year's Draft. The 2008 MLL Collegiate Draft will be broadcast live on ESPNU at 8:30 p.m.
Last season, Hall broke into Major League Lacrosse with Chicago and scored one goal and added four assists in six games. He was drafted by the Machine in the second round (11th overall) of the 2007 MLL Collegiate Draft.
Hall played his college lacrosse at the University of Delaware, where he played alongside Alex Smith to help the Blue Hens reach the 2007 NCAA Division I Men's Final Four. In 2005, he was named Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year. He played in 66 career games with 61 starts and recorded 140 points (85+55) and scooped up 184 ground balls. Hall is ranked No.13 on the all-time UD list for assists and points and No.17 for goals. The native of Surrey, BC, also won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2006 World Field Lacrosse Championships.
The Rattlers will open their 2008 Major League Lacrosse season with a road contest on Saturday, May 17th against the Long Island Lizards at 7:00 p.m. at Mitchel Field. The game will be broadcast live on WYSL 1040-AM, wysl1040.com and ESPN360.com. The Rattlers' home opener is set for Saturday, May 31st against the two-time defending champion Philadelphia Barrage at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on WYSL 1040-AM, wysl1040.com and ESPN360.com.
