Rockford IceHogs News Release

Rockford, Ill.- Rockford IceHogs goalie Michel Robinson was rewarded for his stellar first half of the 2004-05 United Hockey League season with his second call up to the American Hockey League's Milwaukee Admirals. In return, the Admirals have sent goaltender Seamus Kotyk (SHAME-us kah-tuck) to the IceHogs.

Robinson has had an eventful week leading up to his second career call-up. On Sunday, the second year goalie picked up a 5-4 win over the Flint Generals in Flint, Michigan. Monday, Robinson started in the UHL's Pepsi All-Star Classic in Glens Falls, New York and last night he helped lead the Hogs to 5-2 win over the Missouri River Otters in St. Charles, Missouri.

The Hogs goalie will join the Admirals when the team plays the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks Friday night in Cincinnati. Robinson is currently the second ranked goalie in the UHL with a 22-9-5 record, 2.22 goals against average and a .924 save percentage. Last night, Robinson made his 19 straight start for Rockford.

Robinson is one of seven players from the IceHogs that have been called up to the AHL this season. Milwaukee has promoted forwards Jason Ralph, Olivier Proulx, Terry Harrison and defenseman Nathan Lutz and Ryan Bonni. The Chicago Wolves called-up d-man Tim Wedderburn in November, and he still remains with the club.

Kotyk is playing in his fourth season in the pro ranks. The 5'-11" goalie played his first three campaigns with the Cleveland Barons (AHL). His top season came last year, when Kotyk was 13-10-5 with a 2.48 goals against average and a .925 save percentage in 30 appearances. Kotyk is expected to be with the team Friday night when the IceHogs play the Flint Generals.
