RiverDogs acquire two in trade with Trashers

Richmond, VA - The Richmond RiverDogs of the United Hockey League have acquired forwards Brian Herbert and Samir Ben-Amor from the Danbury Trashers in exchange for goaltender Ryan McIntosh. Ben-Amor and Herbert are expected in the ‘Dogs lineup when Richmond visits Danbury Friday.

Ben-Amor, a native of Finland, began his pro career in that country. He has also played with Louisiana in the ECHL. Ben-Amor had 14 points and 123 PIM in 44 games with the Trashers this season. He was a member of Finland's World Junior team in 2000.

Herbert, a second year pro, also played with Louisiana last season. He had eight points and 16 PIM in 36 games with the Trashers this season. Herbert played college hockey at Quinnipiac where he scored 22 goals as a freshman.

The deal now gives the ‘Dogs an active roster of 18 including two goalies. Trevor Senn and Derek Schutz remain on IR. The ‘Dogs face Danbury Friday and Saturday before returning home next Wednesday, February 2 to face Port Huron at 7:35 PM.

Wednesday, February 9 NASCAR driver and 2004 Rookie of the Year Kasey Kahne will be on hand. The ‘Dogs will wear racing themed jerseys autographed by Kahne that will be auctioned off following the game. There will also be a pre-game VIP party with Kahne.
