Robertson's Late Goal Edges Dashers 5-4

(Port Huron, MI) With only an 8 point lead on the Dashers for the final playoff spot the Prowlers get 3 points back they lost last night thanks to Matt Robertson's goal that turned out to be the game winner with 1:45 left to go in the 3rd.

Justin Brausen opened the scoring to start the game, followed by back to back goals by Dalton Jay to give Port Huron a 2-1 lead. The Dashers would again switch on the offense with three unanswered goals from Nathan Campbell, Levi Armstrong and Fred Hein to take a 4-2 lead into the locker room after the 1st.

Port Huron would get a spark from Austin Fetterly on a shorthanded goal that cut the Prowlers deficit to one, midway through the second period. With three and a half minutes left Dalton Jay found twine again securing a hat-trick and tying the game at 4.

In a game that seemed destined for overtime things turned fortunate for Port Huron. Marvin Powell forced a Danville turnover in the neutral zone leaving a tap pass for Dalton Jay, who lifted a saucer pass going tape to tape to Robertson who found the back of the net and his name on the number one star for the evening.

Cory Simons made 47 saves on the evening as Danville peppered him with 51 shots. These two teams will play again tomorrow. Puck drop is scheduled for 3pm Eastern time.
