Robertson Named Oakley Player of the Week

[RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-Scorpions forward Chris Robertson has been named the CHL Oakley Player of the Week. It is the first time this season he has won the award.

Robertson scored in each of the three games this week, helping the Scorpions to two victories over Colorado and Odessa. Overall the center scored six points (4G, 2A), including a hat trick against the Eagles on Saturday night.

In his third season in New Mexico, Robertson has appeared in 28 games and scored 30 points (14G, 16A). Last season the Owen Sound, Ontario native set career highs in points (78), goals (34), assists (78) and plus/minus rating (+22).

The Scorpions will finish the calendar year with their annual New Year's Eve affair in Arizona. The game can be heard on 610 The Sports Animal starting at 7:35 p.m.

New Mexico returns to home ice this weekend for a pair of games. Friday is Chris Robertson bobblehead night courtesy of Santa Ana Star Casino. The first 1,500 fans will get this great giveaway when the Scorps host Rocky Mountain starting at 7:15 p.m.
