Regina, Saskatchewan - Regina Pats Senior VP and General Manager Chad Lang announced today goaltending coach Rob Muntain will remain with the team through the 2014-15 season.

The upcoming season will be Muntain's fourth coaching Pats goaltenders. Some of the goaltenders, Muntain has worked with include Matt Hewitt (49-46-13, 6 SO), Dawson MacAuley (25-16-4, 4 SO) and Daniel Wapple (12-5-1, 2 SO).

"It's exciting. It's been great working with the guys I got to work with the last three years," said Rob Muntain. "With the new ownership group it's going to be a fresh start. I'm really excited to work with the incoming coaches, the goalies we plan on bringing in and the rest of the players. I think I've developed a good relationship with everybody over the three years and I look forward to building on that."

Prior to his time with the Pats, Muntain built the Saskatchewan Hockey Association (SHA) goaltending curriculum as head goaltending consultant. He also worked with Hockey Canada in the development of young goaltenders at events including the National Women's Under 22 Development Camp and National Goaltender's Coaches Workshop.

During his junior career, Muntain played in the WHL and SJHL and named the SJHL's Top Goaltender in the 1999-00 season. He went on to play at the University of Regina and was named a Can West and CIS All-Canadian in 2003-04.

"We're happy to welcome back Rob for another season on our coaching staff," said Chad Lang. "He has done an excellent job assisting our goaltenders with their development the past three seasons and the relationship he has with the goalies on our roster and in our system is an asset we can continue to build on."

Off the ice, Muntain is an officer with the Regina Police Service.
