
Roanoke Ends Three-Game Skid

ROANOKE, Va., Feb. 3âThe Roanoke Dazzle snapped their three game losing streak by beating the first place Charleston Lowgators 121-109 Tuesday night at the Roanoke Civic Center.
The first quarter was a close battle with seven ties and seven lead changes. But the Dazzle pulled away in the second quarter outscoring the Lowgators 29-19 and taking a 58-42 lead going into the half.
"It's great that we were able to come out and play hard after a tough road trip," said Roanoke Dazzle head coach Kent Davison. "We needed this win."
Charleston showed life in the third with a 12-0 run to bring them within ten points. Marque Perry answered with two quick jump shots to halt any comeback.
Terrence Shannon led the Dazzle with a season high 25 points and nine rebounds. Marque Perry added 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists. Geoff Owens chipped in a season high 20 points.
Charleston's Ime Udoka captured a NBDL record with 36 points. Alpha Bangura and Damone Brown contributed 20 a piece.
"They beat us in every which way," said Charleston Lowgators head Coach Doug Marty. "Roanoke out-played us in every department."
The Dazzle (13-10) are in action again on Saturday, Feb. 7 when they take on the Asheville Altitude at the Asheville Civic Center at 7:15 p.m. Charleston (16-8) plays again Saturday, when it faces the Patriots in Fayetteville at 7:30 p.m.
