EDINBURG, Texas - The Edinburg Roadrunners of the United League Baseball announced today the signing of University of Texas Pan American alum Guadalupe Barrera.
Barrera joins the Roadrunners as a relief pitcher and will be in uniform tonight when the Roadrunners host the Alexandria Aces in a four game series starting at 7:05 pm at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
Guadalupe is a native of Palmview, Texas where attended La Joya High School. After a stellar career at UTPA, he posted career numbers of 109 1/3 innings pitched in 67 appearances along with three starts.
Barrera's best appearance in college came in the 2012 season where he notched a career high ten and two thirds innings pitch with 11 strikeouts against New Jersey Institute of Technology in a game which went 18 innings.
Tuesday's home game against the Alexandria Aces will be RC Cola and 7Up Two for Tuesday where select food items and drinks will be only $2.
