
Coury Provides Walk-Off Winner

EDINBURG, Texas - Dan Coury hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to propel the Edinburg Roadrunners over the Alexandria Aces 3-2 on Tuesday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
The teams went scoreless for the first three innings, until the fourth when Alexandria plated two runs to take the lead. The runs scored on a Nick Mahin RBI double that allowed Eddie Murray score. Mahin came in to score on a Derrick Pyles RBI single to make it 2-0.
The teams traded zeros until the eighth inning when Edinburg made their comeback as Chris Christopoulos reach on a walk with two outs. Trevor Whyte hit an RBI double to trim the Aces lead at 2-1.
Damian Seguen struck out the side in the ninth inning that set the stage for the offense in the bottom half. Bobby Rinard launched his second homerun of the season to tie the game at two, which knocked out starter Jon Jones out of the game.
Aces reliever Nathan Stewart allowed the bases to get loaded setting up Coury's walk-off single to end the game at 3-2.
Seguen (1-0) earned the win for the Roadrunners in relief tossing a scoreless inning with three strikeouts.
Stewart (1-1) took the loss for the Aces throwing a third of an inning allowing the game winning score.
The Roadrunners continue their four game series against the Aces on Wednesday night with the first pitch at 7:05 pm.
Thursday's game will be Thirsty Thursday where alcohol beverages will be on special and it will be Pueblo Tires Customer Appreciation Night.
