Roadrunners Run Away with Win

The Reno Silver Sox bullpen let the St. George Roadrunners score 10 runs in the last two innings allowing the Roadrunners to run away with their first victory over the Silver Sox, 11 - 4.

Silver Sox starter Dusty Bergman pitched seven innings for the Silver Sox allowing only one run off of three hits while striking out five Roadrunners. More importantly, Bergman left the game with a 4 - 1 lead going into the eighth inning.

Sent in to relieve Bergman was Matt Parris. Parris couldn't seem to find his spots as the Roadrunners were able to bring in three runs while Parris was only able to record two outs. Shawn Balteff was then sent in to relieve Parris and after walking two batters, Balteff was able to end the inning on a fly out to second.

Balteff came in again in the ninth, however after loading the bases with a double, a hit by pitch, and a walk, Manager Les Lancaster sent it Josh Evans to try and control the damage. Evans, however, seemed to have the same problem Balteff did and when all was said and done, Evans allowed seven runs, three of them charged to Balteff, off of two hits.

On offense, the Silver Sox were lead by RF Ryan Kowalski who went 3-5 with one RBI and one run scored.

The first 500 fans to enter through the gates at Peccole Park on August 18, will receive a free pack of Silver Sox baseball cards. If you were ever late for a Silver Sox promotion and missed out on a free mini-bat or free t-shirt, then this is definitely the one promotion you do not want to be late for because after we give out the 500 packs the only way to get the cards will be to purchase them at the Silver Sox merchandise stand.

Family Night is this Sunday!

Every Sunday for the rest of the 2007 season will be Family Day at Peccole Park...INCLUDING THIS SUNDAY! Every family will be admitted to Sunday's game for $14...yup, just $14 no matter the size of the family.

In addition, parents and children will be to play catch before the game on the field and all children will be allowed to run the bases after the game. Last Sunday 100 parents and kids enjoyed playing catch and running the bases after the game.

This offer will be valid at the Silver Sox ticket booth at Peccole Park on the day of the game only.
