Edinburg Roadrunners News Release
EDINBURG, Texas---- The Edinburg Roadrunners of United League Baseball (ULB) are looking for host families to house members of the Roadrunners 2009 squad for the upcoming season. Every year during the eight year history of baseball in Edinburg, the host family program has been a part of the success of the team both on and off the field. Taking part in becoming a host family you not only help these young men form a sense of normalcy in a new city, you help them become a part of a family.
Requirements for a host family are as follows: provide a room for a player from June 2nd to August 31st while they partake in a season that includes 80 regular season games, 44 of which take place right here at Edinburg Baseball Stadium. Host families will in turn receive two season box seat tickets and parking pass, but most importantly build a relationship that can last a lifetime with these young men who come from the United States, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Mexico to represent the City of Edinburg.
Those interested in this opportunity are asked to contact Doug Leary or Vince Moore at (956) 380-4446 for more information.
The Edinburg Roadrunners season starts Thursday June 11th at Edinburg Baseball Stadium where they will face the Laredo Broncos in a four game series. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
