
Roadrunners Fall to Thunder

EDINBURG, Texas - The McAllen Thunder used three first inning runs as they defeated the Edinburg Roadrunners 3-0 Tuesday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
The Thunder (16-29) did all the scoring in the top of the first against Edinburg starter Curtis Camilli. Joseph Hicks drove in Jorge Bishop with an RBI double to right field. Then, Tim Battle followed with a two-run single that allowed Rod Perrin and Hicks to score making it 3-0.
Jacob Douglas (3-3) pitched seven scoreless innings as he scattered four hits while striking out four for his third win of the season.
Camilli (4-3) took the tough-luck loss after going the distance for the Roadrunners (20-25). He allowed three runs, all in the first inning, on eight hits with four strike outs.
Yunier Colon pitched a scoreless eighth and ninth innings for his third save of the season giving the Thunder the 3-0 victory.
The Roadrunners and Thunder will play game two of their four-game series Wednesday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
Thursday's game against the Thunder will Core Business Solutions, Driscoll Health Plan, and College Night in addition to the Thirsty Thursday night where beers will be sold at a discounted price
