
Monger Goes Yard, Cats Rout Colts in San Angelo

The Fort Cats dominated the San Angelo Colts in game one of a four-game road series 12-4 on Tuesday night.
The Cats (29-16) scored two runs in the first inning when Daniel Meeley singled in Cameron Monger and Aljay Davis.
The Colts (23-22) cut the lead in half with a run in the bottom half, but the Cats came back and added two more in the second to make it 4-1.
The biggest blow of the game came off Monger's bat in the seventh. Monger hit a three-run homer over the left field fence to put the Cats up 11-2. The bomb was Monger's first of the season.
Starting pitcher Kyle Wilson got his third win in as many starts with the team and now has a 1.35 ERA after allowing two earned runs over six innings on Tuesday.
Prior to Tuesday's game, shortstop Shelby Ford was placed on the disabled list with a fracture in his hand. The team also released catcher Nikko Tountas and singed shortstop Logan Brumley and catcher Thomas McAlpine.
After coming in to pinch hit for Davis in the eighth inning, Brumley had two hits in two at-bats. McAlpine was hit by a pitch in his only plate appearance.
The Cats and Colts face off in game two on Wednesday ay 7:05 in San Angelo.
After the series with the Colts concludes, the Cats head to Edinburg for a four-game series with the Roadrunners before returning home for a four-game series with the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings.
