San Angelo Colts News Release

San Angelo, Texas --- The Fort Worth Cats scored in all but three innings and defeated the San Angelo Colts, 12-4, Tuesday night at Foster Field.

Fort Worth scored two runs apiece in the first and second to take an early lead. The Cats then added insult to injury with eight more runs from the fifth through the eighth inning.

Cats' left fielder Cameron Monger drove in four of his team's 12 runs, and also scored three of them. He scored in the first inning, and then hit an RBI single in the second. In the sixth, he reached base on an error, and later scored on another Colts' error.

Monger capped off his 3-for-5 performance with a three-run homer in the seventh inning.

The Colts got RBIs from designated hitter Nathan Ramler, left fielder Braden Embry, and shortstop Danny Hernandez, but it was not nearly enough to keep pace with Fort Worth. Embry went 1-for-2 with an RBI double in the fifth inning and a sacrifice fly in the seventh that scored right fielder Tyler Wagner.

Colts' starter Derek Christensen (4-2) took the loss. He allowed seven runs, six earned, on 10 hits in six innings. The loss snapped his four-game win streak.

Cats' starting pitcher Kyle Wilson earned his second consecutive win against San Angelo. Wilson (4-1) gave up two runs on four hits in six innings of work.

The win improves Fort Worth to 29-16, while the loss drops San Angelo to 23-22. This series continues with game two Wednesday night. It will be a Sure Win Wednesday, sponsored by Sherwin Williams.
