Roadrunners Drop Second Game Against Colts

SAN ANGELO, Texas---The Edinburg Roadrunners dropped their second game to the San Angelo Colts after a 6-4 loss Tuesday night at Foster Field.

Edinburg (25-10) held a 3-2 lead going to the bottom of the fourth before allowing three runs on four hits to San Angelo.

Ambiorix Concepcion got the Roadrunners on the board in the top of the second with a solo home run off of Colts starter Alex Morales making it 1-0 Edinburg.

San Angelo (20-18) answered right back in the bottom of the second with a two-run home run by Joshua Collazo giving the Colts a 2-1 lead.

In the top of the third, Wilson Batista tied the game at two with his third home run of the season. Robert Matlcok and Carlos Hereaud followed with back-to-back singles. After a fielder's choice put runners at first and second, Osiel Flores hit a two-out RBI single scoring Carlos Hereaud giving the Roadrunners the 3-2 edge.

The Colts regained the lead in the bottom of the third with three straight hits off of Edinburg starter Tim Haines (4-2) scoring three runs to make it 5-3 San Angelo.

Colts third baseman Jason Crosland hit an RBI double in the bottom of the fifth scoring Ronnie Gaines from first extending San Angelo's lead 6-3.

Wilmer Pino and Felix Molina started the top of the seventh with back-to-back singles for the Roadrunners. After a double steal attempt put Pino at third, a wild pitch by Gorman Romero (3-0) allowed Pino to score making it 6-4 Colts.

Michael Hacker held Edinburg scoreless in the top of the ninth for his eighth save of the season giving San Angelo the 6-4 victory.

The Roadrunners and Colts will play the third game of this four-game series Wednesday night at Foster Field. Mike Reeves (3-2) is expected to face Ezequiel Astacio (3-2) with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
