Roadrunners Come Back Late

SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Edinburg Roadrunners scored a run in the seventh and eighth innings to comeback and defeated the San Angelo Colts by a final score of 5-4 in game one of a double header.
San Angelo (34-33) scored a pair of runs in the first when Jon Dziomba hit a triple, then he scored on a Joseph Hicks single that made it 1-0. Hicks reached third on a miscue by the Edinburg defense. Braden Embry hit a sacrifice fly that scored Hicks, which made 2-0.
Edinburg (34-34) responded with a homerun by Carlton Salters, which was his fifth of the season and trimmed the deficit to 2-1.
The Colts added a run in the third inning on a RBI single by Steve Rinuado, which scored Bubby Williams that increased the lead to 3-1.
In the fifth inning, the Roadrunners scored a couple of runs when Michael Haynes reached on a single, then moved second on a Jordan Etier single. Each of them advanced a base on a throwing error with only one out. A wild pitch allowed Haynes to score and a sacrifice hit by Cameron Dullnig allowed Etier to score which made it three all.
San Angelo took the advantage again in the fifth when Rinaudo launched his tenth homerun of the season and made it 4-3.
The Roadrunners tied the game in the seventh inning at four when, Tim Battle reached on a walk, then moved to second on a wild pitch. Battle moved to third on groundout and scored on a wild pitch with two outs.
Edinburg took the lead in the eighth when Cameron Dulling reached on a double to start the inning then advanced to third on a ground out. Travis Clark produced the RBI single, which proved to be the game winner at 5-4.
Ryan Zimmerman (4-3) earned the win going seven innings, allowing three earned runs and giving up five hits.
Scott Hartling (0-1) took the loss tossing an inning, allowing an earned run on three hits and one strike out.
Alex Schmarzo earned his fifth save of the season throwing a scoreless inning and allowed a hit to preserve the victory.
