FORT WORTH, Texas - The Edinburg Roadrunners were held scoreless on the road as they fell to the Fort Worth Cats by a final score of 8-0 on Thursday night at LaGrave Field.
Fort Worth got the scoring started in the first inning when Daniel Meeley hit a two run single to give the Cats an early 2-0 lead.
The Cats continued their offense in the fifth inning when they scored four runs highlighted by a three-run triple by Chris Ellison which extended their lead to 6-0.
The Cats would add runs in the sixth and eighth innings with RBIs from Cameron Monger which ended the scoring at 8-0.
Edinburg were held to five hits, with Michael Haynes going 2-for-4 with a pair of singles, Tim Maitland had a double.
Curtis Camilli (6-5) took the loss for Edinburg going four innings, allowing four earned runs on six hits while striking out three.
Will Krout (1-0) earned his win for the Cats as he threw seven scoreless innings allowing three hits.
The Roadrunners will try to salvage a series split against the Cats on Friday at La Grave Field with the first pitch set for 7:05 pm.
