Phoenix RoadRunners News Release
PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL have announced that rookie center Peder (pronounced "Peter") Skinner has agreed to terms on a contract for the upcoming 2007-08 ECHL season.
Skinner, 21, tallied 29 goals and 70 points in 60 games with the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League in 2006-07. The Isle-aux-Morts, Newfoundland native finished third on the club in scoring and guided the Frontenacs into the OHL playoffs where he collected six assists in five games, including a three-assist effort on March 25 against Oshawa.
"Peder is a skilled forward that brings tremendous speed, and we are excited to add him to our roster," said RoadRunners Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Church. "I expect Peder to be a consistent contributor in every situation."
Skinner signed with Kingston on Nov. 2, 2005 after leaving Michigan State University midway through his sophomore season. He recorded four assists in 23 career games with the Spartans. Skinner and RoadRunners' center Jeff Kyrzakos were teammates with the St. Michael's Buzzers of the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League from 2002-04.
