Orange County Flyers News Release

The Orange County Flyers continued their road struggles with a 9-4 pasting at the hands of the Yuma Scorpions, who have won the first three games of a four game series at Desert Sun Stadium.

The Flyers dropped to .500 at 18-18, despite the efforts of Rich Pohle, who had four hits. Pohle drove in all the Flyers runs, including a three-run blast in the 7th inning.

RF Maikel Jova did Pohle one better when he launched a grand slam to dead center as part of a six-run 5th inning off the Flyers' SP Nate Holguin.

Rich Janeway gave Yuma the lead for good when he tripled in two in the 3rd inning. Henry Calderon also drove in two runs in the one-sided contest.

The Flyers staff did receive three scoreless innings of relief from former starting pitcher Jamie Douglas.

Orange County now will look to ace Reed Dickert to avoid a sweep on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. All the action can be heard on KWRM 1370 AM and orangecountyflyers.com.
