Road Warriors Season Ends with 5-0 Loss

Greenville, SC: The Road Warriors ended the 2012-13 season with a 5-0 loss in game five against the Reading Royals.

Stanislav Galiev scored on the power-play to open the scoring with a few minutes left in the first. Galiev scored his second goal of the series with a wrist shot over Scott Stajcer's blocker.

Brett Flemming picked Sebastien Piche's pocket and scored on a breakaway goal to put Reading up 2-0 just 23 seconds into the second. Flemming scored bar down on Stajcer for his third goal of the series. Yannik Tifu added his fourth goal of the series about four minutes later for a 3-0 Reading lead. The scoring in the second period concluded with an Ethan Cox goal as Reading brought a 4-0 lead into the locker room for the second intermission.

Barry Almeida scored the final goal to finish the scoring and secure a 5-0 victory. Mark Owuya collecting his second shutout in as many games with 19 saves. Stajcer stopped 35 shots in his first professional playoff game. The Royals won the best-of-seven series 4-1.
