Green Bay Blizzard News Release
The Green Bay Blizzard finished the regular season with a 63-43 win in Youngstown, Ohio over the Mahoning Valley Thunder. After a slow start, the Blizzard went on scoring runs in the second and fourth quarters, scoring 28 points in each of those quarters.
The Blizzard defense helped out the offense by putting up two touchdowns on a pair of fumble recoveries, one in the end zone by defensive lineman Anthony Hoke and another after a 41 yard fumble return by linebacker Shadrach Okoebor. Defensive back Tracy Belton intercepted two Thunder passes late in the fourth quarter to help lock in the win.
On the offensive side of the ball, wide receiver Anthony Crissinger-Hill had one of his best performances of the season with 10 catches for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Gino Guidugli completed 23 of 32 passes for 271 yards, threw four touchdowns and scored one rushing touchdown totaling five touchdowns on the day.
Entering the first round of the playoffs the Blizzard will go on the road to face the Tennessee Valley Vipers. These two teams faced off earlier this season in Green Bay and the Blizzard beat the defending champions 40-53.
