
Rivets Lose to Bombers 10-8 in Intense Game

Battle Creek, Mi. - Both the Battle Creek Bombers and Rockford Rivets had their offenses going on Saturday night at C.O. Brown Stadium, but the Rivets eventually succumbed 10-8 in the high-scoring affair.
Rockford Rivets got on the board in the first inning when Parker Bates tripled scoring one run.
The Bombers took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. Jake Wilson doubled, scoring two runs and Roman Trujillo singled, scoring one run.
Rockford scored six runs in the third inning. The Rivets' offense in the inning was led by Bates, Jimmy Day, and Logan Michaels, all sending runners across the plate in the inning.
Tanner Propst took the loss for Rockford Rivets. He went two innings, allowing three runs on four hits, striking out one and walking one.
Brad Littleton started the game for Rockford Rivets. He lasted three innings, allowing eight hits and seven runs while striking out two.
The Rockford Rivets had eight hits in the game. Bates and Jacob Vander Wal each had multiple hits for Rockford. Bates went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Rivets offensively.
The two teams face off again in Battle Creek tomorrow. First pitch is schedule for 12:05 CST at C.O. Brown Stadium.
