Rockford Rivets News Release
Kenosha, Wis. - The Rockford Rivets could never seem to get going in a 19-7 loss to the Kenosha Kingfish on Monday night at Simmons Field.
The runs for the Rivets were flying off the bat of first baseman Wyatt Mascarella. He went 2-5 from the plate with four RBIs on the day. Parker Bates, Kian O'Brien, and Jacob Vander Wal all scored multiple times for Rockford.
The bats for the Kingfish came early and often as they scored in every inning but the second and the sixth. They really drove the nail in the coffin with an eight-run spot put up in the bottom of the eighth.
"It's a toss-up every night," said Rivets' Manager Brian Smith, "But you got to tip your cap to these guys, you don't hit four home runs in a game by accident."
The Rivets take on the Kenosha Kingfish again on Wednesday, August 8th. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
