Mississippi RiverKings News Release
HERNANDO, Miss. - Mississippi RiverKings mascot, RiverThing, learned science and interacted with campers at Super Drugs Pharmacy's Summer Science Camp Friday, July 24.
Eddie O'Bannon, Pharmacist and Owner of Super Drugs Pharmacy, introduced the campers to a number of cool science experiments that each camper was able to participate in. In one of the experiments O'Bannon demonstrated the difference in densities between Coke and Diet Coke. In another experiment campers were taught the power of yeast by creating "Elephant Toothpaste" in the lab.
"Super Drugs Pharmacies are a proud sponsor of the Mississippi RiverKings," said O'Bannon. "The RiverKings bring our community together and I love seeing families having great fun in DeSoto County. I've always been an advocate of supporting local businesses and the RiverKings are a local team that gives back to the community in so many ways. It is a pleasure to sponsor the Mississippi RiverKings and I encourage the residents of DeSoto County to bring their families and show their support of this great team."
RiverThing was at the Summer Science Camp to participate in some of the experiments and to take pictures with the campers. He also helped pass out RiverKings items, including game pucks, to the campers.
