Riversharks Win Fourth Straight

Camden Riversharks News Release


Drew Macias was 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs and J.R. Mathes pitched into the seventh inning as the Riversharks took the first game of their three-game series with the Liberty Division leading Long Island Ducks by the final score of 6-2. With the win, Camden has now matched their longest winning streak of the season at four games.

Mathes (2-4) picked up the win for the Riversharks going six plus innings allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out two batters. The victory was Mathes' first since June 11th.

Rudy Lugo (4-2) took the loss allowing three runs on seven hits while walking three batters in five innings of action.

Camden broke the scoreless tie with two runs in the bottom of the 3rd. After Drew Macias hit a solo home run, Noah Hall brought home Juan Francia with an RBI double to give the ‘Sharks a 2-0 lead.

Pedro Feliz added to Camden's lead in the 5th inning with an RBI infield single to make it 3-0.

Long Island battled back with two runs in the top of the 7th to cut the deficit to 3-2.

Drew Macias provided two key insurance runs in the 8th inning with a two-run triple that plated Danny Richar and Alvin Colina to make it 5-2 Riversharks. Macias scored a few pitches later as reliever Ehren Wasserman threw an errant pickoff attempt down the left field line to make it 6-2.
