Camden Riversharks News Release
CAMDEN - The Camden Riversharks will host a live, game used, baseball bat auction on Wednesday, September 16th, following their 7:05pm game against the Bridgeport Bluefish. Proceeds from the auction will be used to offset the medical expenses of an autistic child close to the Riversharks family. The event will be part of fan appreciation night, presented by Cento Fine Foods, Cherry Hill Volvo, and Saladworks, benefitting The Little Rock Foundation.
"This is a nice way for us to help out a family that means a lot to the organization, as they try to work through a difficult time," said Riversharks General Manager Adam Lorber. "It also gives our fans one last chance to take home some great 2009 memorabilia, while supporting a fantastic cause."
During the auction, all Riversharks players will be in attendance, and they will personally autograph and present the game used bats to the winning bidders. Following the auction, there will be a fireworks spectacular, presented by Metro PCS.
"This is something that we are all looking forward to," said Riversharks outfielder Chris Walker. "Not only does it give us a chance to do something positive for a great family, but it also gives us an opportunity to interact with our fans during the final home game of the year. That's what fan appreciation night is all about," he added.
The Riversharks are currently in fourth place in the Liberty Division, and trail the first place Southern Maryland Blue Crabs by eight games. They will return to Campbell's Field on Monday, September 7, to take on the York Revolution at 7:05pm. Limited seating is still available.
